| This
famous and extremely modest Belgian floral
painter( born 10 July 1759 ), asked nothing
better than earning his living painting flowers.
From humble beginnings, he became Painter
of Flowers to two Queens and one Empress (Napoleon's
Josephine), but is perhaps best remembered
for the special print editions (which he also
supervised) of his paintings such as Les Roses,
Les Liliacees, and Flowers & Fruit amongst
many others. Available as a single or twin
illuminated display, with extensive galleries
of additional paintings. |
